Actuation and sensing for crewed and long term science missions
From the first Hubble Servicing mission to the James Webb Space Telescope, CDA’s now over 350 space applications have been addressing the extreme actuation needs of space environments for over 25 years. CDA designs and manufactures the most reliable space rated motors, rotary and linear actuators, rotary sensors and deployment dampers for both commercial and defense markets.
CDA in Space
- Produced it’s first space motor when helping to fix Hubble’s vision in the 1993 COSTAR servicing mission
- Over 150 motors, position transducers, and dampers on James Webb Space Telescope operating as low as -266°C
- Four manned spacecrafts have CDA motors
- CDA products have operated on Mars, asteroids and will soon orbit around Mercury and the sun

When it has to work
We support missions where components must work every time, because if they don’t, the mission may fail and lives may be lost. That’s critical engineering at work. That’s fifty years of space, downhole oil & gas, and defense heritage. That’s CDA InterCorp.
